About the clubs:

Formed in 2000, the Broadwater Academy Rowing Club consists of Broadwater Academy students in grades 7 – 12 who are interested in learning to row and in going on to compete against high schools (public and independent) in the Hampton Roads area. Our most active seasons on the water are fall and spring; in summer a less formal and demanding workout routine is followed. During the winter months, we train on ergometers (rowing machines) in preparation for the annual Erg Pull in Norfolk.

The Eastern Shore Rowing Club is a masters-oriented rowing organization which follows generally the same seasonal format as the Broadwater club. Members are encouraged but not required to participate in regattas and the Erg Pull.

The two clubs share equipment and storage facilities; together, they own three four-oared shells and four eight-oared shells. They launch from a private home and row on Onancock Creek.
